LIQUOR LICENCE NO. 24008153 At our small, family-owned winery in the historic village of Womboota (just over the Victorian-NSW border, 31 km from Echuca-Moama), we produce distinctive, handcrafted grape wines, as well as our specialty, a range of delicious meads (honey wines). One of the world's oldest alcoholic drinks, mead has been popular across the world, from Africa to Northern Europe, for thousands of years. Mead is mentioned in the epic poetry and sagas of ancient Nordic and Celtic literature and mediaeval texts. In 'Beowulf', one of the oldest poems in the English language, mead stirs warriors' spirits before battle. Mead warms hearts too: in Viking times, mead was a traditional honeymoon drink.

Tradition and innovation combine in the subtle, complex flavours of our meads, made from renowned regional honey varieties such as River Redgum, Mallee and Orange Blossom. They're meads delicious when served lightly chilled, as a table wine or with a cheese platter - or for a special treat, why not try a mulled mead (warmed with spices)? You may also enjoy our handcrafted grape wines, made with traditional winemaking equipment, including a basket-press and oak barrels.

In our pottery studio next to the winery, we also make a range of beautiful stoneware pottery that complements our wines and meads, including wine cups and beakers, flagons, olive oil bottles and dipping bowls.

Our wines, meads and pottery are available from our Cellar Door at Womboota (open daily, 10.00am-5pm), as well as online here at Farmhouse Direct.  FREE GIFT WRAPPING AVAILABLE NOW UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!
