  • Lemon Grass is an important flavouring in Asian and Indian cuisine for curries, fish and rice dishes, soups, sweet and sour dishes and stir-fries.

    The thick bulbous base is the part added to give a tangy, lemon flavour.

    Peel off the outer green sheaths and the thick base and with a very sharp knife finely slice the white core and add to dishes when starting cooking.

    Leaves folded and knotted are added to water to flavour rice, or steaming vegetables (the leaves are removed before serving).

    You can also finely chop the leaves and brew for 2-3 minutes to make a refreshing tea.

    Lemon Grass is a rich source of Vitamin C. Great for winter coughs and colds when drunk as a tea.

    Lemon Grass can be kept in the fridge or dried for future use.
