Saskia Beer - Artisan Food Producer, Cook & Food Educator I've been fortunate to grow up surrounded by the principles of good farming and honest cooking through Dad's game bird farming and Mum's restaurant, The Pheasant Farm, in the Barossa Valley. I began in business early in life starting a catering business in 1993 - good produce was hard to find, but good farmers weren't and through utilising our own family farm initially in 1996 I started a business called Barossa Farm Produce with free range, corn-fed chickens and of course pheasants (my family legacy). As the business grew, we involved other producers in contract growing to our specifications. We also introduced many firsts into Australian farming such as the Milk Fed Lamb Group, The Black Pig brand and the continuation of Game Farming in partnership with committed producers who help us attain our goals in primary produce. Saskia Beer Farm Produce is now a diverse business that includes the following brands: " Saskia Beer Free Range Chickens " Saskia Beer Game Birds " SASKIA Charcuterie " SASKIA Condiments " The Black Pig " The Game Keeper by Saskia Beer We work in alliance with farmers, butchers, cooks and small goods makers to bring a unique offering to the Australian food scene. Our belief is in the quality of the food first and foremost - this takes time, the best possible raw ingredients and this can only be done using sustainable practices. The by-product of this is excellence on the plate - it's what we believe in and what we strive for. I am sure you will be able to taste our passion for gourmet food in our produce.
