What Mums Really Want for Mother’s Day

We’ve asked some of our hard working Farmhouse mum’s what Mother’s Day means to them and what they would really like to wake up to on May 14th. Bonus points if you combine these gifts with lots of hugs, breakfast in bed and the best present of all: a sleep-in!

The best gifts to receive on Mothers Day are of course free; simple acts of love and appreciation is what most mums really want. However, May 14th does only come around once a year, so if you would like to also spoil your mum with a present, weve polled our Farmhouse mums to help you find the perfect gift.

What would you like for Mothers Day this year

Sarah: I have young children, so I would love a day free from tears, tantrums, sickness and injuries. You may think thats easy but I can tell you from experience its an impossible task!

My picks for gifts would be: Miss Sallies Quince Jellyand our Vanilla Lip Balm, Olieve and Olie.

Jude: Just being able to spend the day with my children is very special to me. In our family we prefer to spend time together, rather than buy gifts. Sadly my Mum, Betty, passed away this year and Betty would always get cross when we bought her anything for Mothers Day. She would say, I used to give my Mum a white flower on Mothers Day and thats all I want too, so our family tradition is to give a white flower.

My picks for gifts would be: Blackbooks Australian Green Tea with Aniseed Myrtleand our Lavender & Rose Geranium Body Butter, Olieve and Olie.

I have a 27-year-old son and 23-year-old daughter, and my son hasnt thought it was cool to hang out with his Mum since he was 17! So my ideal day would be just to hang out with my kids and go for a walk together for a few hours. It would also be fun to spend a leisurely day at home pampering ourselves and doing facials.

My picks for gifts would be: Suz E Bee natural tea light candlesand my Face Pamper Box, A Wicked Scrub.

I would like to go to Mt Tomah botanic gardens with my family to admire and feel the season change. Having grown up in Russia, the only thing I miss from home is the bold, luxurious colours of autumn and Mt Tomah is one of the best gardens where you can enjoy them. I have two little girls who are 4 and 6 years old and a Mothers Day tradition for a few years has been that my husband and my girls make traditional thin crepes for a special breakfast. There's always lots of laughter in the kitchen when they do it and I love the smell and the sound of that on Mother's Day morning.

My picks for gifts would be: Blackbooks, Far Nth QLD Chaiand my Mothers Day Gift Pack, Ninas Bees Honey.

Rub a Dub

What would you like for Mothers Day this year

Every Mothers Day Im usually getting up at 5:30am to go to work at a Farmers Market, so I dont get the day off. Its funny because Father's Day always seems to fall on a day when we dont have a market! If I were at home, breakfast in bed would definitely be a must. My 12-year-old daughter has made this for me in the past and its lovely because she chooses flowers and produce from the garden.

My picks for gifts would be: The Australian Tea House, Camomile and Lavender Teaand my natural Bod lotion, Rub a Dub.
